Habitat quilt raffle will help build local homes 6/15/01 J-ad Graphics News Service A quilting group called the Piecemakers has donated a quilt to Barry County Habitat for Humanity, which is holding a quilt raffle to earn funds to help build homes for low income people. Showing the quilt are, from left, new Habitat President Warren Sutherland, Rita Brown (who serves on the Habitat board and is a member of the Piecemakers) and Habitat Executive Director Louise Hurless. Other Piecemakers who worked on the quilt include Marge Wieland, Irene Laughlin, Jeanette Kogge and Joyce Daugherty. The drawing will be held on the County Courthouse steps Saturday, Aug. 25 during Summerfest. Tickets are $2 each or three for $5 and may be purchased at the Habitat office in Hastings or from any board member. Habitat is building two homes this summer.
